Bass BC

John Lake (Bass BC) grew into his love of dance music through an interest in beatbox which has since led him on to explore dubstep, breakbeats, glitch hop and ghetto funk.

In 2014 he set up DROP, a monthly dance night at The Primrose pub in Leeds, with his brother and sister-in-law, with the emphasis on providing a top-quality sound and light system. In 2015 and 2016, the DROP marquee was the major attraction at the Leeds Hyde Park Unity Day festivals.

Bass BC has also deejayed at various other Leeds venues, including Temple Works, Rock & Roll Circus, The Old Red Bus Station, Beaver Works and The Brudenell Social Club. In 2014, he collaborated with Mikk Stupp and DJ Dee Kay on the tune ‘Buffy Anthem (Close Your Eyes)’.
